Hi, Mr. Editor, your wallet looks cool!

This segment of WX2 Tradesman, lets look at how an Editor wallet should be.

Flipping back our records of custom-made wallets, we remember this design, the Ranonranonrat wallet. A wallet designed by the user that is unique and one of its look.

While we were brainstorming for a tradesman wallet for the ‘white collar’ class, we looked back and improvised the Ranonranonrat wallet.

The design aesthetic remains originally. A bi-fold concept with coin compartment outside and strap snap closure.

We uses black and natural leather this time round. Dimension for this wallet is 5″ long, 3.25″ breadth and 0.5 thick when close.

The detail on the coin compartment is this ‘expandable’ technique which is quite rarely used on leathercraft. The common ones you see are slit open all the way down to the bottom. On ours, the slit was cut out 2/3 downwards.

Internally, we have 6 card slots in total, 4 suitable for credit cards, 2 bottom slots are stack slot, which is good for namecards. Money clip for bills to slim down the overall thickness of the wallet.

Thread colours are matching with the leathers, white threads for natural and black thread for black leather. The reason is to maintain minimalism on the wallet external without being too ‘contrasty’ but yet still unique.

Wallet for Travellers

Previously, we showcased WX2 for the Military. From this week onwards, we will feature WX2 Tradesmen. Similarly making only limited pieces, the Tradesmen range focus on the modern day occupations.

Wallets cater for or specifically functional for particular trade.

First to start is our Frequent Traveller Mid Wallet.

WX2 Trademen FQT

Made out of Ostrich-embossed cowhide leather, the texture is ‘bumpy’. These spots are the pores of the ostrich feathers. Exotic and unique, they are soft by itself.

Expect a shinier surface after some usage.

Constructed with inner lining of oil-tanned cowhide leather, we make sure the storage space is ample for a regular traveller. A zipper compartment for coins, receipts or amulets, is set in between 2 compartments. These compartments can fit passports, bills (fold-up), or travelling notes.

The fun is, we incorporated a card holder of 6 slots, detachable from the wallet!

A good and flexible design feature during your transit waiting, keeping the main wallet in safe bag and only using the cardholder for quick meals.

On the external, it is a 2 hidden button closure concept, with curve shape outline. Check out the pictures below closely, apart from the pores, you can see the grains and lines on the surface.

And by looking at them even more closely, you will notice the different threads we use externally and internally. The reason of this is to match the colour of the different leather we use.
